I don't regret doing it, and it was ready for me to give MSFS a spin, I hope MS adds some key missing things (for me) soon, but until then I really enjoy X-Plane on it and am looking forward to 12. The biggest benefit for going to Windows for X-Plane is that it's got the widest 3rd party support, some plugins and planes are only supported on windows. I've enjoyed having it spec'd out and running surprisingly smooth on a i7700k and 1080Ti across 3 4k monitors, the Vulkan update made a huge difference. But 3 years ago I decided to build a PC for x-plane (that was only part of the reason, I hadn't built a machine since switching to Mac, before cpu coolers were even a thing and thought it'd be a fun thing to do). I've been a MacBook guy for ages, use it for everything from dev work to personal stuff. This is targeted at re-selling and guerilla marketing.
